Your holiday is booked, your suitcase is almost packed! Nice weather and a radiant sun. But your skin will have to get used to exposure to the sun and UV rays again. The sun is not necessarily harmful, but the invisible UV rays can cause damage to your skin. Healthy skin offers protection against external influences.
With our tips you prepare your skin well for the sun so that you can enjoy it!
Most importantly, hydration!
Hydration is the secret to healthy skin. The sun and seawater dry out your skin. The drier the epidermis is, the more porous it becomes and the more UV rays it transmits. Make sure you hydrate your skin optimally before and after a long day in the sun.
Take some time every day to cover your body and face with a moisturizing cream. A moisturizing day cream will form a protective shield for your skin barrier against all the surficants from the outside. Also drink plenty of water: about 1.5 liters per day.
Find shade in time.
The best protection against the sun is to seek shade in time. Especially between 12 noon and 3 p.m. (summer time).
Lubricate yourself enough.
Always apply sunscreen approx. 30 minutes before braving the sun. This way the caring ingredients get enough time to be absorbed by the skin. According to skin specialists, it is advisable to reapply the sun cream every 2 hours for optimal protection.
Treat your skin according to your skin type
Start this in time, so that your skin is in top condition when you go on holiday. Your skin type determines the way your skin reacts to the sun. Light skin will burn much faster than dark skin. Most Belgians burn quite quickly. Very pale skin is least well protected from the sun because it contains little melanin. In any case, every skin color benefits from being prepared for the sun. Use a serum adapted to your skin type after sun exposure.
"Prepare your skin for tanning with an activating serum one week before exposure."
The Zeitschild Active Relief Serum is particularly suitable for application after solar radiation, injections, dermabrasion or other aesthetic treatments on the face or neck. Redness, itching and swelling are quickly suppressed and soothed.
After sun cleansing
Don't forget the leftovers of your sun cream! Therefore, be sure to cleanse your skin at the end of the day with a mild, nourishing cleansing milk.
Don't forget your hands!
It may be a part of the body that is quickly forgotten, but it is our hands that suffer the most under the sun. Don't forget to moisturize and protect it with the hand cream for even the most sensitive hands.
Leave the sunbed on the left.
It is a myth that the tanning bed prepares the skin for the sun! It only accelerates skin aging, damages the eyes and causes skin cancer. After all, the UV rays from a tanning bed are 6 times or more stronger than those from the sun at noon in the Tropics. And that's a lot.
Patience is a virtue!
The key word for tanning with respect for your skin: patience. Take care of your skin and do not immediately tan for a long time.
Taking care of your skin should become as natural as brushing your teeth
